Wild Island Gallery

Wild Island opened in October 2014 in the heart of Hobart’s iconic Salamanca Place. The centre explores and promotes Tasmania’s wild places through imagery and the arts, ethical and locally sourced products, cutting-edge workshops and expeditions that engage people with nature and landscape.

Wild Island aims to remind us of our intrinsic connection with nature. It brings wildness to the city and takes the people of the city to wild places.

The inaugural gallery exhibition at Wild Island showcases the work of Australia’s pre-eminent wilderness photographer, Peter Dombrovskis. Featuring painstakingly digitally remastered images and cutting edge print technology, Peter’s work is presented as never before.

Also sharing the gallery space is a group exhibition by selected photographers and artists, including Rob Blakers, Simon Olding, Loic LeGuilly and Chris Bell.

Wild Island is located at the former home of The Wilderness Society Shop, 8/33 Salamanca Place in Hobart.
